Working with nonprofit organizations to empower lawyers with education and motivation to lead them to participation is my way of helping people and communities improve their futures. I'm not taking new clients – but I am taking new causes!

The first step – Educate Lawyers [CLE]. We create a short seminar about the mission of your nonprofit organization and offer it to lawyers as a webinar. Because lawyers need continuing legal education [CLE], your organization can choose whether to offer the class in exchange for volunteer service or at a low cost, or both. The second step – Motivate "volunteers." Nonprofits need help in many ways and I can help you find meaningful activity to get involved: from grant applications, editing a press release, brainstorming online, staffing tables at events, handing out warm clothes in the winter and fresh fruits and vegetables year round, and much, much more. Lawyers Beware - If you start handing out winter clothes, you may end up going to Springfield – it happened to me!

The third step – Help to Advocate. You don't have to go to Springfield to participate in the legislative process! You can help plan logistics for “Advocacy Day” activities, where buses (free, including lunch) bring people  to Springfield from all over the state, edit the “one-pager” that will be handed to legislators, learn how to canvass (not how you think), provide your ideas and other input in numerous ways, and learn how to engage with your legislators at their offices near your home. Frankly, how a bill really becomes a law is not what we learned in school!
